Xiangyan Ruan, M.D.

Dr.Xiangyan Ruan is a Visiting Prof. at the New York Obesity Research Center, Institute of Human Nutrition, Columbia University College of Physicians & Surgeons. Dr. Ruan is also a chief medical doctor /Associate Prof. & Director of the Endocrinology Center for Gynecology, Capital University of Medical Sciences-Beijing OB/GYN Hospital , China. She is the membership of Chinese Menopause Society, a branch of the Chinese Medical Association . Xiangyan Ruan received her Doctorate in medicine (M.D.) in 1997 from West-China University of Medical Sciences , China. Thereafter, she completed a post-doctoral fellowship at Chongqing University of Medical Sciences in 1999.

Her background includes clinic especially in Gynecology and Obstetrics ,teaching and basic/clinical research for gynecologic endocrinology related diseases . In August 2005, Dr. Ruan joined Dr. Dympna Gallagher at the Obesity Research Center as a Visiting Prof. Dr. Ruan's research interest is in the area of body composition , metabolism & endocrinology related problems. Funded by a grant of Beijing Commission of Science and Technology & Beijing Government ,China. she is currently conducting the studies on menopause related diseases in China.
