Seon Yeong Lee, M.D., M.P.H., Ph.D.

Dr. Seonyeong Lee was a visiting research fellow at the Body Composition Unit of the New York Obesity Research Center, and Institute of Human Nutrition, Columbia University from 2007 to 2008. Her background training includes medicine and public health. She received her Ph.D. in Family Medicine from Korea University, Seoul, her M.P.H. from the School of Public Health, Seoul National University and her M.D. from Inje University Medical College. As a visiting fellow, Dr. Lee worked with Dr. Gallagher on research relating to body composition and metabolic risk in obese children.
Dr. Lee is now an Assistant Professor at the Department of Family Medicine, Inje University, College of Medicine, Sanggyepaik Hospital, Seoul, Korea.
Dr. Lee's main interests are:
- Fat distribution in children and health outcomes
- Ethnic differences in health risk of childhood obesity
- Measurement and evaluation of fat in children
- Prevention and treatment of childhood obesity
- Analysis of epidemiological data related to obesity
