Columbia University Seminar on Appetitive Behavior

August 25, 2006

Dear Colleague:

The Columbia University Seminar on Appetitive Behavior will be continuing its 35th year (its birth date was March 9, 1972), September 7, 2006. I am continuing as Chairman, and Kathleen Keller will continue as Rapporteur. Abstracts of some seminars will be published in Appetite as Short Communications (up to 3300 words), provided they meet the usual criteria for publication. This year's speakers will provide a blend of human and animal studies from a variety of perspectives, and I am hoping that we will have some lively discussion from you, the audience. A fairly complete schedule for 2006-2007 accompanies this letter. Please post it for future reference and note that there are two changes from the previously announced dates. The December and May meetings will both be the second, instead of first Thursday and they will be half-day symposia.

Please remember our venu is continuing as it was last year. WE WILL MEET AT 4:30 (not 7:30) and dinner will follow at 6:00-7:30 as in the past.

As in the past I will prune the mailing list to include only those who regularly attend (i.e. attend at least half the meetings). Those who still wish to receive notices and minutes on a monthly basis, but who are not regular attendees, should inform me by OCTOBER 1, 2006. For those who do not, and are not regular attendees, this may be the last notice you will receive.

We now have 100% of our mailing list on e-mail. If your e-mail address changes or you wish to be dropped notify apsem@columbia.edu.

Parking can still be had in a secure garage on the Columbia Campus, entered from the west side of Amsterdam Ave. at 119th St. (Engineering Terrace). You will need to bring a $15.00 check made out to Columbia University each time you park and give it to Kathleen Keller before the seminar. She will then forward all checks to the parking authority. You will still need a parking permit so please include your FAX NUMBER in your reply to the announcement with a few days notice if you desire parking. We will fax all permits rather than mail them. If you would like parking on a regular basis we can issue all the permits at once at the seminars.

I hope to see as many of you as possible, in what promises to be another great year.

Sincerely,

Harry R. Kissileff, Ph.D.
Chairman, Columbia U. Seminar on Appetitive Behavior
