Peter Tsan-Hon Liou, M.D., Ph.D.


Peter Tsan-Hon Liou, M.D., Ph.D. Dr. Liou is a post-doctoral research fellow at the New York Obesity Research Center, Institute of Human Nutrition, Columbia University College of Physicians & Surgeons. Dr. Liou is also Director of the Obesity Prevention Center, Taipei Medical University - Wan Fang Hospital, Taiwan. His background includes rehabilitation, geriatrics and clinical treatment of obesity. He received his Doctorate and M.D from Taipei Medical University. In addition, he is certified board members of rehabilitation and obesity treatment in Taiwan

In September 2004, Dr. Liou joined Drs. F. Xavier Pi-Sunyer and Blandine Laferrère at the New York Obesity Research Center as a postdoctoral research scientist. Dr. Liou's research interest is in the area of disability and obesity, assessment of human physical activity and energy expenditure, and epidemiologic study of obesity. Funded by a grant of Department of Health, Taiwan, he is currently conducting the study on pharmaco-epidemiologic survey of anti-obesity drugs use in Taiwan.
