Positions are available for volunteers to work as research assistants in a laboratory which has strong research background in body composition and bone density, and in an environment which enriches, stimulates and provides learning opportunities for the individual who is interested in health-sciences related professions. More than 100 volunteers have worked in our labs during the past 20 years. Many of them have worked on projects that produced abstracts to be presented at scientific meetings or manuscripts to be published in scientific journals.

Volunteers learn how to measure body composition by DXA scans, BIA, tracer dilutions, anthropometrics, or by counting 40K for total body potassium measurement for research and clinical purposes. Work may involve the calibration of instruments, inputting data in the main department computers, and assisting in data analysis.
