David B. Allison received his Ph.D. from Hofstra University in 1990. He then completed a post-doctoral fellowship at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. Following this, he completed a second post-doctoral fellowship at the New York Obesity Research Center at St. Luke's/Roosevelt Hospital Center. Dr.Allison served as a scientist at our Center from 1991 to 2001. He is now Professor of Biostatistics, Head of the Section of Statistical Genetics and Associate Director of Clinical Nutrition Research Center at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He remains an active consultant and collaborator to our center. He has authored over 100 scientific publications and edited three books. He has won several awards, including the Neal Miller Young Investigator Award, holds several NIH grants, and serves on the Council of the North American Association for the Study of Obesity. Dr. Allison's research interests include, human obesity, clinical trial design & analysis, quantitative genetics, and statistical and research
methodology.
